Human Clinical Research
The overall objective of the Gallo Center’s Human Clinical Research group is to accelerate the exploitation of preclinical research findings to improve understanding of disease mechanisms in humans, and to confirm clinical value or potential molecular targets for new therapeutics.

The Human Clinical Research group supports projects in two key areas:

  1. Human neurobiology of alcoholism and addiction, including behavioral testing and functional imaging, which will help us to better define human phenotypes.
  2. Proof of concept clinical trials using existing drugs to test molecular targets that have been identified and/or validated in animal studies.
