My laboratory uses genetically modified mice and cell culture models to study neuronal signaling pathways that regulate responses to alcohol and other drugs of abuse. The goal is to understand whether proteins within these pathways influence drug craving and dependence, or modulate conditions such as excessive anxiety or pain that may increase the risk of substance abuse.
